Never Been Kissed – The Musical Parody – a perfect Valentine’s Day treat!

Never Been Kissed is one of the most iconic ’90s rom-coms and we are in LOVE with the LA Rockwell’s musical parody version, running now through February 23rd, 2020!

Never Been Kissed the unauthorized musical is self aware in the ridiculousness of the original plot which plays wonderfully into the songs and acting on stage. Snag tickets while they are still available – ranging from $29-$49 and available directly from the Rockwell website. Tickets would make the perfect Valentine’s gift for that special someone or friends and family alike!

This was our first time attending an afternoon show at Rockwell – and can I just say one word to start us off… BRUNCH. From carrot cake french toast to bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s, you know just from the menu that you’re in for a delicious time. They were even flexible with us and let us switch out the patty on the Cowboy burger to the veggie patty so we could get the delicious captain crunch onion rings, American cheese & chipotle bbq sauce. We grabbed some margaritas to go with and sat back to enjoy the show.

Our seats were central between the X of the stage and we truly felt like we were part of the show – I mean it’s hard not to when you have a class act singer dancing and belting less than a foot away from you! That being said, the show takes place all over the venue so there’s truly no bad seats! During NBK, the actors spent a lot of time by the bar area, they even shared seats with a pair next to us and borrowed Michael’s phone as a prop during a scene (she did return it too FYI!)

I love that Rockwell’s shows allude to the source material while also using songs we already know and love making it easy to follow and dance along to. Our favorite songs were the integration of 90’s hit “Wonderwall,” by Oasis and a mashup of Simple Mind’s “Don’t you Forget About Me,” and Aqua’s “Barbie Girl”

The chemistry between Josie (played by Lana McKissack) and her teacher Sam (played by Nathan Moore) was very real.. so much so that during the show I learned they are married in real life! So glad they got to share their ‘first kiss’ on stage in front of us all 😉 how Rufus!!!

Shows at the Rockwell are truly unlike shows you can see anywhere else. The talent is simply unreal, the food is outstanding and you and the rest of the audience come away knowing you were just part of something special.

While tickets are almost sold out, there’s still a few seats calling to you! Get them while you can here and let us know what you think of the show!
